Wine-Oh? Wine's in Review: Chocolate Shop's Chocolate Red Wine

Wine-o? Not!  But oooh do I love a good glass of wine… My neighbor and good friend Candice and I try new wines every chance we get (nightly!, O_o No Judging)… A good glass of chilled wine + great food =  Head tilted towards the heavens, eyes squinted in bliss;  umph, a perfect evening at home.  I love both red and white wines, fruity or spicy, dry or sweet.  We mix it up so much that it is only befitting that a proper dedication be made to the spirits!  TLJ will post once a month (more like 2 posts per week, lol) in honor of new wines that we have tried and love.  If it gets a ‘(O_O)…really?’ rating from our taste testers, then you won’t find it reviewed here!! Only those wines that make us smile will make a review on TLJ…. So without further ado, Chocolate Shop’s Red Wine, The Chocolate Lovers Wine!!!

Description
Sweetening the tongues for centuries, chocolate and red wine has been the most reliable pairing in history. Chocolate Shop takes this pairing to the next level, marrying chocolate flavor with red wine to create a sumptuous drink. They start with a proprietary red blend of the finest vinifera varietals, add a touch of oak and a kiss of sweetness to create the perfect fruit-driven foil for the rich dark chocolate which unfolds in silken layers across the palate.
Food Pairing
Dessert Wine.  Goes very well with strawberries and whipped cream.  Also, try this wine with a light cake, like Angel’s Food Cake and berries to even out the chocolate richness.  Serve chilled or room temperature.
Review
Ummmm…Heaven!!! Is the best way that I can describe this divine concoction.  What an amazing wine.  The perfect blend of cherry flavors and deep rich chocolate overtones is pure decadence.  My first sip was like taking a bite of an exquisite chocolate covered cherry.  The oak undertones are reminiscent of a smooth, well aged cognac.  My chocolate craving and thirst for a great red wine have both been quenched in tandem! This is a must try!!

  1. I personally prefer a more dryer wine; however, this chocolate wine definitely made me consider otherwise. Dessert wine? YES. Sweet Tooth? YES. For those times where I'm craving something sweet and chocolate, this is one that would definitely suffice.
